The X-Files is also available for free on Pluto TV. I’ve watched a few of the first series episodes and it still holds up well after all these years. Classic TV.

Thanks for the tip Mark! Glad to know that the series is available for free. I am glad I’m not the only fan. I agree that the show holds up well. It feels remarkably contemporary. Terrifying to realize that that was 30 years ago now. Holy geez, Where did the time go?

Funny thing, it took me a while to jump on X-Files with my first wife, but I eventually did and enjoyed it, but not ravenously. I did the husbandly duty and took her to the X-Files movie, got her books about X-Files, etc. My second wife? We both LOVE it now and binge the series 3-4 episodes at a time when we have the hankering.

Wow, that is interesting to hear Ray!! I was skeptical myself on revisiting the show that I would like it after the intervening decades. I was a big fan akin to your first wife, back in the day but questioned my allegiance in 2026. It is cool to hear it is the opposite for you, that you have a newfound appreciation for the show.! The bar is set so high now for quality TV, I figured the episodes might seem hackneyed watching now. It was my husband who convinced me to try X Files again and, like yourself, I am having an absolute blast. We do cherry pick the episodes, zeroing in on our favourites, though one day, I intend on watching the entire series chronologically. Thanks so much for your comment Ray. Glad to know the cheese does not stand alone on this one. I think the mordant humour of the series holds up.The show really holds my attention, but is an easy watch when I need to unwind.
